Microsoft Exchange (EWS)

For corporate Exchange servers running on private infrastructure (on-premise), LockMyCal provides direct integration via EWS (Exchange Web Services). LockMyCal reads availability and writes back confirmed appointments.

Note

Using Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, or Outlook.com? Refer to our Microsoft 365 & Outlook guide instead — Microsoft Graph is recommended for cloud accounts.

Prerequisites

  • EWS endpoint URL – typically formatted as https://mail.company.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx.
  • Username – formatted as user@company.com or DOMAIN\user.
  • Password for the account.
  • Mailbox address whose calendar will be managed.

Authentication is handled securely over HTTPS using Basic authentication.

Connection Steps

  1. In the dashboard, navigate to Integrations → Calendars → Connect a calendar and select Microsoft Exchange.
  2. Fill in Integration Name, EWS endpoint URL, username, password, and Mailbox address.
  3. Click Discover calendars, select calendars, and click Save selection.

Tip

If your Exchange server is accessible only on private internal networks (e.g. 192.168.x.x or .local domains), self-hosted instances require setting ALLOW_PRIVATE_IPS_FOR_CALENDAR=true.
