Telegram Bot & Slack Notifications [PRO]

Keep an instant overview of new, cancelled and rescheduled bookings and of approval requests right in your favourite communication tool – Telegram or Slack.

Pro in the cloud

Feature availability [PRO]:

  • LockMyCal Cloud (SaaS): The direct connection to Telegram and Slack is part of the Pro plan.
  • LockMyCal Open-Source (Self-Hosted): Fully open and working without fees.

1. Telegram

LockMyCal supports two modes that are mutually exclusive – the instance operator chooses between them:

Own bot (TELEGRAM_ENABLED=true): every user connects their own bot.

  1. In Telegram, find the bot @BotFather and create your own bot with the /newbot command.
  2. Copy the generated Bot Token (e.g. 123456789:ABCdefGhIJKlmNoPQRsTUVwxyZ).
  3. Get your Chat ID (e.g. by sending a message to the bot @userinfobot).
  4. In LockMyCal, go to Automation → Telegram, paste the Bot Token and Chat ID, select the events and save.

Shared instance bot (TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN, TELEGRAM_BOT_USERNAME, TELEGRAM_WEBHOOK_SECRET): one bot serves all users. In Automation → Telegram, just click the connect button and send the bot a message as instructed.

If you block the bot or remove it from the chat, the integration turns itself off.

2. Slack

Depending on the instance configuration, one of two methods is available:

Incoming Webhook (SLACK_ENABLED=true):

  1. In your Slack application, turn on Incoming Webhooks.
  2. Choose the target channel (e.g. #bookings) and generate a Webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/...).
  3. In LockMyCal, go to Automation → Slack, paste the Webhook URL, select the events (new booking, reschedule, cancellation and approval requests), test and save.

OAuth – the "Add to Slack" button (SLACK_CLIENT_ID, SLACK_CLIENT_SECRET): in Automation → Slack, click Add to Slack, choose the workspace and channel and select the events.

3. Events and Managing the Integration

  • Telegram and Slack show as integration cards (status, subscribed events, last delivery) with Test, Logs, edit and delete buttons. You switch between Webhooks, Telegram and Slack with tabs, and the forms share one event subscriptions card.
  • You can subscribe to all six booking events, just like with webhooks: a new booking, a reschedule, a cancellation, and an approval request, a declined request and a request that expired unanswered. For requests, Telegram also sends the respond-by time and the decline reason.
